Community Garden Advocacy Day- Join Us!
The LADWP has asked the LA City Council to approve water and power rate increases that include increases to the “Schedule F” rate that applies to most community gardens.
Here is how you can help protect community gardens and promote water conservation:1. Our elected representatives need to hear from you! Sign our online petition: Garden Water Rate Hike Petition;
2. Join us on Tuesday, February 16th from 9-12pm for a Community Garden Lobby Day as we share our ideas for how the City can do much more to protect community gardens and enhance their capacity to conserve and still pay their water bills. We will be meeting outside on the south lawn along the 1st Street side of City Hall at 9am. We hope to see you there and encourage you to bring friends and family!
3. Join us on Wednesday, February 17th at 3pm in Room 1010 at City Hall for the Energy and Environment Committee meeting as we offer our recommendations for how they can mitigate the impact of LADWP’s garden rate hike.
