The Fifth Annual Gathering of Community Gardens was a great success! We hosted a free, day-long, ecological and educational event, featuring workshops (in English and Spanish), networking, special guests, information booths, and healthful food around the theme “Farm to Fork.” The venue was the Loma Alta Park and Community Center and Altadena Community Garden.
Emily Green, award winning journalist and Los Angeles Times writer, delivered the keynote address. A bevy of experts and educators provided insights and experiences about various gardening-related subjects. For those who were not able to attend, download the Los Angeles Community Garden Council’s Fifth Annual Gathering of Gardens Program Brochure.

I belong to a community group in Van Nuys, an offshoot of a neighborhood watch program in what we have started to call “Van Nuys Heights.”We are looking to turn a vacant lot that currently is a blight on the community, into a community garden. Please put me on your mailing list. I will attend on October 22, 11, as will others from our group.

Hi there,
Please keep me posted or send me the RFP for the conference coming up. Cornerstone Theater Co would like to do a presentation on our Hunger Cycle. Thank you.

When are you going to update the website with details of the Oct. 22 Conference? It’s only a month away…
Could you at least add the time (9-3 pm?) and address to your site now?
I’m a member of Wattles Farm in Hollywood. Thanks — Deirdre
