Planning for a Blossoming Year

Have you spent time planning and assessing this new calendar year? If you are looking for ways to brighten up your life, consider adding some color and aroma to your garden by planting flowers! Flowers bring an abundance of benefits apart from their beauty and mood-relieving properties. Bright and vivacious flowers attract pollinator insects such as honeybees, native bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and more. These busy pollinator insects play vital roles in cross-pollination, a process where insects collect pollen and distribute it to nearby vegetables or fruits improving both pollination rates and increasing harvest yield. Another benefit of planting bee-friendly plants is supporting pollinator populations whilst stimulating biodiversity. One tip to keep in mind while planting companion flowers is to make sure the flowers bloom in sync with the crops; otherwise, the flowers miss the crop’s pollination window. We hope that the flowers you plant are just the beginning of a beautiful and healthy 2021.
